Nefertiti Neck Lift

Nefertiti Neck Lift

The ancient Egyptian royal, Queen Nefertiti, was famed for her beauty, especially her long, elegant neck and exquisite jaw line. The Nefertiti neck lift takes its name from her. This treatment uses botulinum toxin injections to relax the muscles that pull down the neck and jaw, creating a youthful, non-surgical neck lift.

A younger-looking neck and jawline with the Nefertiti neck lift

Despite the care and attention you give your skin, your neck is an area prone to the signs of ageing. Many of us find that we develop prominent neck lines and loose, jowly skin along the jawline over time.

The Nefertiti neck lift is an exciting, non-surgical treatment that can subtly but effectively rejuvenate your neck and refine your jawline.

During this treatment, we administer botulinum toxin to targeted muscles in the neck. These Platysma muscles are incredibly strong and can create a downward pull. Temporarily relaxing them acts a bit like removing the pegs from the tent, letting the canvas – in this case, your skin – lift and look smoother. The treatment also reduces the bulk and protrusion of tight Platysmal bands.

The result is a natural but more youthful, contoured appearance that can last for up to six months.

Treatment time: 30 minutes

Recovery time: Immediate

Results duration: 6 months

Treatment price: £425

Nefertiti neck lift FAQs

How long does a Nefertiti neck lift take?

The botulinum toxin injections we use for a Nefertiti neck lift take just 10 to 15 minutes to administer. In some cases, we may refine the jawline further by using dermal fillers. We typically say that you should allow 30 minutes for the treatment.

Will the treatment hurt?

The needles we use to administer botulinum toxin are incredibly fine and deliver a small amount of the product, which is why this is a quick and largely pain-free treatment. Most people compare the sensation to a mild insect bite.

If you are worried about how the injections will feel, you can opt to have an anaesthetic cream applied to your skin approximately half an hour before your treatment to numb your skin.

Is one treatment enough to show results?

Yes. The results of your Nefertiti neck lift should be evident with just one treatment and will last for four to six months.

How quickly should I see the results?

The full results of the treatment will be visible within seven to 10 days.

Is a Nefertiti neck lift safe?

In the hands of an experienced medical professional, a Nefertiti neck lift is a safe, non-invasive procedure. Botulinum toxin injections are backed by years of proven use and clinical studies. However, it is important to be aware of the potential side effects (see below), which we will discuss in detail with you during your initial consultation.

We only ever deliver injections from a single-use vial using single-use needles to ensure that you receive treatment with a product that is fresh, undiluted and free from risk of contamination.

What are the potential side effects of a Nefertiti neck lift?

Because the Nefertiti neck lift uses botulinum toxin injections, it’s important to be aware of the potential side effects associated with these. The procedure should only ever be carried out by an experienced medical professional.

Most commonly, people experience a small amount of temporary bleeding, mild swelling or bruising at the injection site. This usually subsides quickly and can be covered easily with make-up. You may also experience a mild headache after your treatment.

Less common are flu-like symptoms, nausea and some temporary facial weakness or drooping.

In more serious and rare cases, botulinum toxin injections have been recorded spreading to other areas of the face and causing breathing difficulties, muscle weakness, slurred speech and trouble swallowing. None of these symptoms have been experienced at Medikaur Skin & Aesthetics to date but if you notice any signs of facial weakness or difficulty breathing, you should seek medical advice immediately.

Is there anything I should do/not do after a Nefertiti neck lift?

When you come in to Medikaur Skin & Aesthetics for a Nefertiti neck lift, we will give you detailed aftercare instructions. It’s important that you follow our recommendations to enjoy the full benefit of your treatment.

We may recommend that you:

·         Actively contract and use the muscles in the treated area; there is some evidence that this helps to speed up the absorption of the nerve blocking product

·         Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for several hours

·         Avoid vigorous exercise

Can anyone administer botulinum toxin injections for a Nefertiti neck lift?

Botulinum toxin injections use Prescription-Only Medication (POM), which can only be authorised for use by a qualified medical professional such as a doctor, surgeon, independent nurse prescriber or dentist. An aesthetician can administer the injections, but only if the treatment is approved by someone suitably qualified.

Here at Medikaur Skin & Aesthetics, a Nefertiti neck lift is performed by Jane Paterson, who is a popular and immensely experienced advanced aesthetic nurse practitioner, or Dr Gurpreet Gill.
